Event Details

Are you tired of being unsure what Ward you live in and who your city/town councilors are? What if there was a way to get all this information in one very handy and cool-looking application. Or maybe you’re a Developer, DBA, or Designer and want to show off your skills and be a Rock Star in your community.

This event is one of many hackathons responding to a call to action from [a well-known OpenData advocate] David Eaves. At the event we will liberate Public Data into an easy to use format, which will be consumed via APIs by a Web Application (built with PHP) and a Mobile Application (built for Windows Phone 7). For more info see the OpenHalton/OpenGuelph Hackathon wiki.

Our cool sponsors at Port25.ca are graciously helping with:
•    transportation for groups of 5 or more to and from the hackathon, so those of you in Guelph don’t worry – we’ll have our very own bus!
•    snacks for breakfast & afternoon, as well as a Pizza Lunch in order to keep everyone fed and productive
•    some fun and games (can you say Kinect!) to keep everyone entertained and even more productive

Register now, and see the wiki for more details. See you there!!
